WHO IS JOHNNY CUBA?
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Juan Guixens Jr. was inspired by the nickname given to his father. His good friend Rafael would call him Johnny instead of Juan. Confused, he asked his dad "why are they calling you Johnny?" His father explained, in America the English name for Juan is John. With that in mind, Juan used the nickname while 'Cuba' is paying homage to his Cuban roots.
"Life is like a pickup truck, you throw in the good with the bad and you drive forward"

OUR SYMBOLS
El Gallo Morón
In Cuban culture, the rooster represents strength and power. Many countries claim it as a national emblem, and it's one of the most beloved animals in the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe. For Miami, you can find roosters all over the infamous 'Calle Ocho' making it an iconic symbol for Miami. Juan ties the cackling rooster to an old spanish saying "Te va a quedar como el Gallo Morón, sin pluma y cacareando", which loosely translated means "Be careful, because you're going to end up like the Gallo Morón and get your feathers ruffled".
